Caerphilly's moment to shine
Caerphilly residents came out in droves to soak up the sun and the atmosphere as the Olympic Torch Relay made its way through Caerphilly on May 26th.
An estimated 30,000 people lined the streets from Watford Rd to Nantgarw Rd, cheering the Olympic Flame into the iconic Caerphilly Castle.
The atmosphere was electric and Council Leader, Harry Andrews said, "To see so many Caerphilly County Borough residents enjoying our moment to shine was truly electrifying. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity!" |
