Emma Barraclough

Emma with her son

Pauline Quirke, star of Emmerdale and the 90s hit show Birds of a Feather, has lost weight on LighterLife after being told by her doctor one of her hips had worn away due to her weight.

LIGHT AS A FEATHER

Pauline has battled with her weight for several years and after the doctor said she needed a hip replacement in 2009 she decided it was time to lose weight and keep it off. She had previously lost weight two years ago but when she came off the diet the weight went back on again.

Pauline says her weight gain has been gradual over 51 years, "There hasn't been a year when I've binged, my weight just slowly crept up. I've never really thought of myself as the fat girl and my weight has never affected my career but I knew it was time to change."

The well known actress is feeling and looking fantastic and has been splashed over national newspapers and magazines recently showing off her new slim figure. She has featured in the Daily Mirror, Daily Mail, Best, Woman, Good Housekeeping and Take it Easy.

Local Weight-Management Counsellor Mike Hawkins in Barry is excited about Pauline's weight loss and said, "It's great to have Pauline on board as an ambassador for LighterLife. She has lost such a substantial amount of weight and is telling everyone how good she feels. LighterLife is a great way of losing weight and keeping it off, and if you have one or more stone to lose there is a programme to suit you. The Foodpacks are nutritionally balanced and have 100% of the recommended daily allowance for key vitamins and minerals."

Claire Lamputt, LighterLife Weight- Management Counsellor in Bridgend, has a client who has halved her weight called Emma Barraclough who says, "Pauline has been a great inspiration to me while on LighterLife, she looks absolutely fantastic! I've seen her in magazines and also on This Morning talking about how great she feels - I feel exactly the same.

Since losing weight with LighterLife my life has completely changed for the better. My reason and motivation for wanting to lose weight was simple - my son. I came to realise after having him that I could not continue being the way I was. If I did I would not have lived to see my son grow up. I was eating myself in to an early grave! Since losing my weight I have completed my university course and have decided on a totally new and different career path. I would not have made this decision without the balance that LighterLife has helped to give me and my life. I am now more active and can actually catch up with my son.

I have had people not recognising me since the weight loss, including family members. I feel fantastic and that's all thanks to the support of my group and my Counsellor, Claire."
