West Farm The perfect venue
Finding just the right venue for workshops and events can be tricky. First, you need to give your delegates a day to remember, secondly an environment that lends itself to learning and creative expression, and lastly and most importantly it needs to reflect your own values and quality standards as hosts and course facilitators.
It comes as a pleasant surprise, therefore, to discover that a new private project to offer such facilities is underway at the Barn at West Farm in the coastal hamlet of Southerndown. Funded in part by Creative Rural Communities and Tourism, building has begun on creating an eighty seat function room/cinema/theatre that can be used for conferences and events.
The project will be completed in May to link the existing barn to provide a larger space for product launches, promotions, training, conferences and weddings. Directors JillJames and Ewart Needham are no strangers to the creative industries as their backgrounds in film, TV, theatre and radio at BBC, ITV, BAFTA and the BBFC have enabled them to find a niche in the market for this type of venue. An open day will be held on Sunday 22nd May 2011.
